Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations in the Boston area. The role leads first, second, or third-shift activities, assigning work per schedules and production plans, and ensuring daily cGMP operations including equipment setup, operation, disassembly, and cleaning.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/engineering discipline and 6+ years of experience, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in scientific/engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Prior cell therapy and aseptic manufacturing experience preferred.
• Prior POMS MES experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations.
• Assign work to shift personnel based on detailed production schedules and plans.
• Oversee cGMP manufacturing activities, including equipment setup, assembly, operation, disassembly, and cleaning.
• Execute and witness batch record instructions during cGMP operations for compliant documentation.
• Perform real-time on-the-floor batch record review.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to support facility operations and maintenance.
• Monitor and enforce GMP compliance for personnel and activities in the Drug Product facility.
• Maintain the facility in an audit-ready state and ensure inspection readiness.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, policies, and work instructions for safe operation.
• Attend Tier 0 and Tier 1 meetings and perform additional duties as needed.
