Job summary

nVent is seeking a manufacturing operations leader in San Diego to guide production supervisors and the manufacturing team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. You will drive efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

This role includes talent development, budget management, and implementing continuous improvement with a hands-on, problem-solving approach. A Lean background and several years of leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field is a must.
• Ideally 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations or distribution environment.
• Ideally 3 years' experience in a leadership position.
• Prior experience in a Lean environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and performance management for production supervisors and manufacturing team to meet safety, service levels, cost and productivity.
• Drive efficiency and cross-functional collaboration to achieve results and foster continuous improvement.
• Lead talent acquisition, employee development and performance management strategies.
• Develop open communication lines and monitor employee attitudes with HR input.
• Track daily performance and ensure countermeasures and recovery plans are used for missed targets.
• Recommend changes to production capability, tooling, machines, and staffing to support plans and cost-effective approaches.
• Participate in budgeting, including expense and capital considerations.
• Promote nVent culture and visible leadership to encourage participation.
• Encourage hands-on problem solving across teams.
