Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor for 2nd Shift to plan, direct, and supervise production processes and personnel within the proprietary product value streams, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coach staff, and drive lean initiatives while maintaining adherence to OSHA, FDA, and cGMP standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 3pm-12am.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a technical discipline to include Business, Operations or Engineering preferred but not essential.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO9000, FDA and cGMP required.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.
• Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift personnel in the manufacture of customer products consistent with high safety and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot shop floor issues in Advanced Manufacturing, ensuring throughput and yields with engineering support.
• Maintain close observation of orders to conform to schedule / staffing requirements.
• Promote and support site initiatives including safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs, and policies.
• Motivate team members and pursue process, quality, safety and efficiency improvements.
• Routinely evaluate team member performance and provide coaching.
• Review and approve work time in the timekeeping system.
• Adjust direct labor to support demand and ensure on-time production.
• Ensure Safety regulations, OSHA, SOPs, and cGMP are followed.
• Perform routine visual inspection and generate work orders as needed.
• Network with internal and external customers and other departments.
• Participate in site wide Safety Committee Team / projects.
• Conform with laws, safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in special project teams.
