Job summary

Timken is seeking a hands-on technology lead to provide advanced site support and lead small projects across manufacturing sites. You will resolve complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive standardization through documentation.

You will collaborate with site operations, corporate IT, and vendors to keep systems stable, secure, and aligned with business goals, while delivering reliable uptime and compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in IT/CS or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field with 2–4 years of experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory, SCCM, endpoint management, print services, and device deployments.
  • Familiar with RF equipment, handheld devices, label printers, and shop floor computing.
  • Basic LAN/WAN networking understanding and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to virtualization, backup, DR, and manufacturing systems.
  • Analytical troubleshoot skills and strong customer service.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to documentation, process improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier II support for complex incidents involving PCs, M365, RF devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Investigate OS, applications, networks, and hardware interactions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Document tickets, changes, and knowledge transfer.
  • Administer AD, SCCM, and endpoint management.
  • Coordinate escalations with infrastructure and network teams.
  • Support Windows imaging, profile migrations, and endpoint deployments.
  • Create and maintain site runbooks and procedures.
  • Lead small technology projects from planning to closure.
  • Improve standardization, reduce downtime, and decrease tickets.
  • Support technology refresh and infrastructure improvements.
  • Collaborate with site leadership, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Adopt technology standards via training and communication.
  • Execute changes during maintenance windows with rollback plans.
  • Meet service levels while maintaining stability and compliance.
