Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Human Resources Manager to partner with plant leadership, drive a high-performance culture, and align HR initiatives with operational goals.

You will lead staffing, onboarding, and employee relations across all levels, while guiding HR strategy in a manufacturing setting and collaborating with Corporate HR on compensation, benefits, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, IR, or related field required.
• 10+ years HR experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.
• Strong background in HRIS systems; Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site operations leaders to design proactive employee relations programs.
• Lead staffing and full-cycle recruiting for salaried staff and production team members.
• Oversee onboarding, including background checks, drug screenings, offer letters, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
• Maintain HR systems and payroll/employee records.
• Oversee leaves of absence, unemployment claims, and policy compliance.
• Conduct investigations and guide management on issue resolution.
• Lead training and development initiatives, including performance reviews and succession planning in partnership with Corporate L&OD.
• Administer corrective action processes consistently with company values.
• Collaborate with Corporate HR on communications, compensation, benefits, and policy development.
• Manage local compensation programs, including appraisals and wage-rate administration.
• Support benefits administration and inquiries.
• Collaborate with corporate and cross-site HR teams on projects.
• Provide leadership to HR staff with coaching and performance reviews.
