Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is seeking a Human Resources Intern for our McCalla, AL facility. This on-site role supports recruitment, onboarding, talent management and engagement initiatives with plant leadership.

You will help with sourcing, screening and coordinating HR activities, while participating in projects and cross-functional teams. A sophomore/junior HR student with a 3.0 GPA and strong organizational skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior standing in school with HR/Organizational Management/Psychology or relevant field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong time-management, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism in HR.
• Interest in Manufacturing HR career.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant leadership to attract, retain and engage talent aligned with the business strategy.
• Support recruiting activities for technical and hourly employees including sourcing, screening and interviewing.
• Coordinate community relations, employee appreciation events, donations and site communications.
• Identify and streamline HR processes to improve efficiency.
• Lead or support projects and ensure timely completion within constraints.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to meet business needs.
