Job summary

MEDA Engineering & Technical Services is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our client in the automotive industry. Onsite role with variable shifts to cover hourly bargaining unit employees and manufacturing operations.

You will administer hourly employment functions, assist with workforce analysis, onboarding for the HBU workforce, and support lean manufacturing initiatives while fostering a positive workplace culture and handling union-related administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience in Employment/Labor Relations/Manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing tools in the context of employee development.
• Analyze and utilize data to make decisions.
• Experience with managing conflict and having difficult conversations.
• Demonstrated ability to be approachable, able to communicate with all levels of employees, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong follow up, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring a smooth and efficient Manufacturing operation by providing employment support for Hourly Bargaining Unit employees to guarantee a great employee experience.
• Administer the hourly employment office functions and processes
• Assist with workforce analysis
• Deployment and people power management based on contractual obligations and corporate policies
• Manage the day-to-day Employment window functions: leave tracking, reinstatements, general employee questions and support, records management, etc.
• Implement the onboarding orientation sessions for the HBU workforce
• Support the implementation and execution of our lean manufacturing methodology
• Drive a positive workplace culture by supporting plant employee engagement initiatives
• Assist with the administration of the national and local collective bargaining agreements
