Job summary

The Staffing Alternative seeks a Human Resources Generalist for our manufacturing partner in Jackson, Michigan. This hands-on, employee-focused role supports a broad range of HR functions and reports to the Human Resources Manager.

You will handle employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, HR administration, HRIS management, and communications, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a similar HR role.
• Experience in office, manufacturing, or automotive environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources is an asset but not mandatory.
• Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail with accuracy and follow-through.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to employees on HR-related topics and resolve issues.
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for hourly employees, including posting ads, interviews, reference checks, and hiring.
• Assist with onboarding, new hire orientations, and onboarding.
• Maintain and update HRIS systems and employee files.
• Prepare employment letters and other HR documentation.
• Oversee payroll cycle and timesheets accuracy.
• Administer employee benefits plan enrollment and inquiries.
• Plan employee social activities and events.
• Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards.
