Job summary

Milsco in Jackson, MI is seeking an HR Generalist to manage onboarding, training, and HR analytics for manufacturing operations. You will coordinate with supervisors and managers to deliver development programs and ensure data-driven reporting.

You will mediate conflicts under the UAW contract, drive safety policy implementation, and support culture-improvement initiatives across the plant and office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
• 2–5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Team player and leader capable of working cross-functionally.
• Proficiency in HRIS software for data management and reporting.
• Strong decision making aligned with both the UAW contract and Company goals.
• Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations regarding employee information.

Responsibilities

• Onboard employees at all levels, including training and development with supervisors and managers.
• Gather and analyze HR data; create and present regular reporting.
• Mediate conflicts and handle grievances with local UAW within contract and company goals.
• Support improvement plans to foster a positive work culture.
• Conduct training sessions and employee engagement events throughout the year.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and trainings; conduct investigations (5 Whys, fishbone).
• Ensure OSHA, EEOC, and state regulations are upheld.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits in plant/production; participate in safety committees with UAW.
• Develop and enforce LOTO and forklift policies; coordinate training and documentation.
• Communicate with vendors, Occupational Health providers, and insurance coordinators as issues arise.
