Job summary

Sun Chemical is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support Rockdale, IL site and other locations as needed. You will partner with leaders to drive employee engagement and build a high-performing workforce, including ER, TA, onboarding, and HR projects. Travel up to 25% is required.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 5+ years of HR experience, and strong knowledge of employment laws, with proficiency in MS Office and HRIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business admin, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, an HRIS, and automated time and attendance platform.
• Strong Talent Acquisition experience and employee advocate mindset.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide general guidelines on policies, procedures and practices to employees.
• Oversee employee relations issues, disciplinary meetings, investigations, terminations, and conflict resolutions.
• Support labor relations matters and participate in contract negotiations for assigned sites.
• Lead employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
• Manage talent acquisition process with Global Talent Management team.
• Oversee onboarding for new employees.
• Collaborate on compensation research and program design with Total Rewards.
