Job summary

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. in Mesquite, TX seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to deliver proactive HR support to plant leadership and employees. You will partner with operations to anticipate workforce needs, drive employee engagement, and champion organizational effectiveness.

As a key advisor, you will lead talent planning, onboarding for the manufacturing site, and collaborate with agencies. You will oversee HR processes, data integrity, and Workday utilization while upholding compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
• Five to eight years of Human Resources experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong coaching, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Problem-solving and the ability to make decisions based on available information.
• Extreme ownership and full responsibility for results.
• High professional integrity, honesty, personal credibility, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication using appropriate industry language and terms.

Responsibilities

• Workforce planning and talent acquisition with job descriptions, requisitions, and compliant hiring practices.
• Lead onboarding and new hire experience for manufacturing facility, coordinating with leaders to ensure readiness and engagement.
• Partner with Plant Manager on temporary staffing and agency relationships.
• Ensure compliant, well-documented hiring/onboarding/offboarding processes and drive efficiency.
• Serve as strategic partner to plant/operations leadership to drive business performance through people and labor strategies.
• Provide guidance on talent decisions, performance strategy, and organizational change to leaders.
• Support Lean Sigma, 6S, and safety initiatives aligning operational excellence with workforce effectiveness.
• Leverage data and HR insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
• Lead change management and ensure stakeholder alignment for new initiatives.
• Act as primary HR contact for policies, payroll, benefits, and workplace concerns.
• Drive performance management, coaching, and development planning to promote accountability and a high-performance culture.
• Support succession planning by aligning development with long-term workforce needs.
• Maintain HR processes and documentation for accuracy and audit readiness.
• Manage time, payroll, and systems; own Workday processes and data; ensure compliance.
