CBC is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for an established manufacturer in the Richmond, Virginia area.

This is a hands-on production-support role focused on troubleshooting, equipment improvement, and practical engineering support. The position works closely with operators, maintenance, engineers, and production leadership to improve equipment reliability, process performance, and throughput.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, automation, and production-equipment issues and help drive sustainable corrective actions.
• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor observing equipment and processes and implementing practical improvements.
• Support improvement projects from concept through installation, training, startup, and handoff.
• Create or improve tooling, fixtures, layouts, and production-system solutions using hands-on design and fabrication skills.
• Develop and improve SOPs and work instructions and help train production and maintenance personnel.
• Use direct observation and performance data to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and throughput.

Schedule

• Day-shift start time is typically between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
• At least 40 hours per week, generally eight working hours per day plus a 30-60 minute lunch break.
• Weekend on-call support may be required.
• Overtime eligible.

Compensation

• $34-$36/hour, based on experience.
• Annual bonus opportunity at company discretion.
• Overtime eligible.

Requirements

• Three or more years of manufacturing experience with substantial machine operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, or technical production experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability across machinery, mechanical systems, automation, and industrial equipment.
• Experience supporting or leading equipment or process-improvement projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership.
• High ownership, initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn.

Preferred

• CAD experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Exposure to TPM, predictive maintenance, or reliability-centered maintenance practices.
