Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship, technical program, or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults involving motors, starters, relays, transformers, circuit protection, disconnects, and power distribution.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase systems, motor circuits, and power-distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and document repairs, wiring changes, test results, and component replacements.

CBC is recruiting an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for a night-shift opportunity with an established manufacturer in the Richmond, Virginia area.

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, production machinery, and facility electrical infrastructure. The position is well suited to someone with strong industrial electrical fundamentals who can also work effectively in a multi-craft production-support environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, starters, contactors, relays, transformers, circuit protection, disconnects, power supplies, heating circuits, and related components.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, motor circuits, and power-distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues associated with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and document repairs, wiring changes, test results, and component replacements.

Schedule

• Night shift is typically 2:30 PM-11:00 PM.
• At least 40 hours per week.
• Approximately one Saturday per month is expected, with additional Saturdays possible based on business needs.
• On-call support may be required for employees scheduled in the facility.

Compensation

• $32-$36/hour, based on experience.
• Guaranteed $1.25/hour night-shift differential while assigned to night shift, increasing to $2.00/hour after two years.
• Annual bonus opportunity at company discretion.
• Overtime eligible.

Requirements

• Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, single-phase and three-phase power, motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, and equipment documentation.
• Basic familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, industrial sensors, and machine-safety devices.
• High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship, technical program, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial environment.

Preferred

• Journeyman Electrician license or recognized industrial electrical credential.
• NFPA 70E training and industrial National Electrical Code experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Siemens controls equipment.
• PLC troubleshooting or programming experience.
• AutoCAD Electrical or SOLIDWORKS Electrical experience.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

A one-time transition payment may be available for qualified candidates who relocate to the Richmond area.
