Job summary

CBC Global Network in Richmond, VA is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for an established manufacturer. You will install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of AC/DC circuits, single- and three-phase power, motors and motor controls, and the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing environments with industrial electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and equipment documentation.
• Willingness to perform physical work and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Journeyman license or related credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults in motors, starters, relays, transformers, and distribution equipment.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase power and variable speed drives.
• Read schematics, panel layouts, and equipment manuals; document work and test results.
• Support PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, and machine-safety circuits; perform preventive maintenance.

Job description

CBC is recruiting an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for an established manufacturer in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, starters, contactors, relays, transformers, circuit protection, disconnects, power supplies, heating circuits, and related components.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, motor circuits, and power-distribution equipment.
• Safely use electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation-resistance testers.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues associated with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and document repairs, wiring changes, test results, and component replacements.

Schedule:

• Day-shift start time is typically between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
• At least 40 hours per week.
• Approximately one Saturday per month is expected, with additional Saturdays possible based on business needs.
• On-call support may be required for employees scheduled in the facility.

Compensation:

• $32-$36/hour, based on experience.
• Annual bonus opportunity at company discretion.
• Overtime eligible.

Requirements:

• Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, single-phase and three-phase power, motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, and equipment documentation.
• Basic familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, industrial sensors, and machine-safety devices.
• High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship, technical program, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial environment.

Preferred:

• Journeyman Electrician license or recognized industrial electrical credential.
• NFPA 70E training and industrial National Electrical Code experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Siemens controls equipment.
• PLC troubleshooting or programming experience.
• AutoCAD Electrical or SOLIDWORKS Electrical experience.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

A one-time transition payment may be available for qualified candidates who relocate to the Richmond area.
