Job summary

MITER Brands in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an Engineering Services Manager to lead manufacturing engineering and maintenance efforts. You will steward processes, investigate new technologies, and drive cost reductions while ensuring quality and safety across multiple plants.

The role requires a strong background in machine design, project management, and Lean Six Sigma, with proven leadership in a matrix environment. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline required.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Ten or more years’ experience in supervisory position utilizing a combination of technical and leadership expertise.
• Significant experience with machine design concepts and their practical application in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Experience with managing expense and capital budgets.
• Demonstrated experience in project management.
• Familiarity with ergonomics and basic Industrial Engineering concepts.
• Knowledge and application of statistical process control (SPC) and Cp/Cpk indices.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 30% (mostly domestic)

Responsibilities

• Supports manufacturing continuous improvement activities and provides tactical support to maintain high-quality product flow.
• Manages work instructions, line layouts, and procedures; coordinates documentation and operator training.
• Supports site EHS and Quality through investigations and corrective actions; maintains lockout/tagout instructions.
• Oversees projects deploying/improving processing tech in Manufacturing; coordinates with contractors and suppliers.
• Monitors project progress; prepares leadership reports; conducts meetings and risk mitigation planning.
• Manages Maintenance Teams to improve asset availability with Reliability teams.
• Plans budgets and spending for assets and new projects; tracks cost estimates.
• Directs team activities, resolves conflicts, and prioritizes tasks; drives consensus.
• Develops staff into knowledge experts in assigned processes/technologies.
• Aligns product design with manufacturing processes to achieve CpK targets and cost goals.
• Researches technologies to improve quality, reduce cost, or increase safety; designs evaluation plans.
• Develops departmental budgets and procedures to ensure efficiency; approves monthly expense reports.
• Sets standards for machine/equipment specs, drawings, and buyoff criteria.
• Occasional travel to multiple plant sites for project responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as required.
