Job summary

GE Aerospace invites engineers to join the Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP), a 2-year path developing technical leadership in manufacturing. You will rotate through two 12-month assignments, gaining hands-on shop floor experience, solving problems, and learning through mentorship with manufacturing experts.

The program emphasizes GD&T, data-driven process improvements, Lean and Six Sigma, and cross-functional collaboration to improve quality, throughput, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Associate degree with 3 years manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or 3 years in manufacturing-related role.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily hands-on support to shop floor personnel to help facilitate problem-solving and process improvements.
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing skills and interpret blueprints to facilitate component manufacturing processes.
• Utilize various design and analytical software to support and improve manufacturing processes.
• Advance and develop manufacturing planning, processes and work instructions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to improve product quality, increase throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Collect and analyze data from manufacturing processes to drive short- and long-term actions that support production.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify waste and support decision-making processes.
• Manage project plans related to manufacturing changes and collaborate with various functions to drive action and project closure.
