Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Manager – Level 2 to lead a team of ten engineers in Dulles, VA, on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. This onsite role combines functional management with hands-on engineering leadership on avionic circuit card production.

You will drive process development, implement DFM, and manage projects and budgets while mentoring engineers and coordinating cross-functional training to strengthen manufacturing readiness and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 9+ years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process control and control-plan development for electromechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with scheduling, earned-value tracking and budgeting tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as hands-on Manufacturing Engineer for assigned programs; draft/review work instructions; manage non-conformance dispositions and ECNs.
• Process Leadership: collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop/validate electromechanical assembly methods emphasizing DFM and quality.
• Project & Capital Management: plan, budget, and execute equipment and process-development projects.
• Team Development: mentor engineers, coordinate training, and foster cross-functional expertise.
• Operational Support: troubleshoot assembly issues with suppliers and area management; qualify new equipment.
• Performance Oversight: conduct staffing and performance reviews; report progress to senior leadership.
