Job summary

Danfoss in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of Process and Controls Engineers and to drive manufacturing optimization through automation, digitalization, and Lean practices. You will guide project execution, improvements, and standardization across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years of manufacturing, process, or project engineering experience in an industrial setting.
• Proven experience leading projects involving custom manufacturing equipment, machine design, automation, installation, and startup activities.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, PLC systems, MES platforms, assembly operations, and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Process and Controls Engineers with coaching, performance management, and technical direction.
• Drive design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes including assembly, machining, testing, layout, and flow.
• Oversee introduction of new products, equipment, and automation, ensuring installation, validation, and safe production launches.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing: Kaizen events, line balancing, capacity planning, cycle-time improvements, waste reduction, data-driven optimization.
• Ensure processes meet safety, quality, ergonomic, and regulatory standards, maintaining PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and equipment qualifications.
