Job summary

Jobot is seeking a high-impact Manufacturing Engineering Leader in the Riverton, CT area to guide a team of engineers delivering precision aerospace components. You will drive lean initiatives, oversee process development, and ensure readiness for new product introductions on secured programs.

The role requires a strong background in CNC machining and AS9100, with leadership experience and a track record of delivering cost and throughput improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace/précision machining/advanced manufacturing.
• 3+ years in leadership managing engineering teams.
• Strong background in CNC machining, aerospace processes, tooling and process development.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specs.
• Experience supporting AS9100 quality systems.
• Proven project management and organizational ability.
• U.S. Person status (ITAR) — required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
• Support NPI and production readiness activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and PM.
• Analyze data and implement corrective actions to improve KPIs.
• Oversee process documentation, routings, and manufacturing standards.
• Lead capital equipment and automation projects from concept to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements and regulatory standards.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
• Champion safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

QUALIFICATIONS

Needed (Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
• Minimum 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing
• Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Strong background in CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing processes, tooling, and process development
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications
• Experience supporting AS9100 quality systems
• Proven project management and organizational ability
• U.S. Person status (ITAR requirement) — hard screen

Nice-to-Have (Preferred)

• Aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies
• ERP/MRP system experience
