A growing manufacturer of technically complex electrical products is looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineering Manager as part of the continued development of its U.S. engineering and production operations.
This is a leadership-focused position with responsibility for an established manufacturing engineering team and the opportunity to grow the function as the organization expands.
A major focus will be increasing the use of automation across manufacturing operations and supporting the introduction of new product lines. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to lead the team, set priorities and drive improvements across engineering and production without requiring significant day-to-day oversight.
The company is particularly interested in strong people leaders who combine an electrical manufacturing background with a track record of improving manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary manufacturing engineering and technical team.
- Take ownership of team performance, objectives, KPIs and engineering priorities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to increase automation across manufacturing operations.
- Lead engineering initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality and production performance.
- Support the introduction and scale-up of new products and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and improve manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling and test capabilities.
- Work with production teams to identify bottlenecks, improve workflow and increase manufacturing capacity.
- Drive structured continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives across the operation.
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce production downtime through engineering-led solutions.
- Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability and support the transition of products into production.
- Lead manufacturing-related engineering projects and support investment in new equipment and technologies.
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and wider Engineering teams.
- Coach and develop engineers and technical staff while building a culture of ownership and accountability.
Requirements
- Significant experience within manufacturing, production, industrialization or advanced manufacturing engineering.
- At least 3 years of direct people management experience within an engineering or technical manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers, technicians or other technical professionals.
- Proven ability to establish objectives, track KPIs and manage team performance.
- Strong experience within electrical, electronics, electromechanical or similarly technical product manufacturing.
- Experience implementing or supporting manufacturing automation.
- Exposure to technologies such as robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, automated testing, vision systems or smart manufacturing equipment.
- Track record of delivering measurable improvements across manufacturing efficiency, quality, throughput or equipment performance.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
- Experience supporting new product introduction, process development or production scale-up.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Engineering or related technical degree.
Preferred Experience
- Candidates with experience manufacturing power-related, industrial electrical, electronic or other technically complex products would be particularly relevant.
- Additional experience with smart manufacturing technologies, manufacturing software, automated test equipment, capital projects or advanced manufacturing systems would be advantageous.
- Direct experience within battery or energy storage manufacturing is not required.

Compensation
Up to 165K Base + annual performance bonus.
Relocation may be considered for suitably qualified candidates.
