Job description

Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Onsite in Greater Austin, TX

Compensation: $200K-$225K + Bonus + Equity

Ready to Transform Next-Gen Energy Tech into Scalable Reality?

A high-growth, pioneer in advanced clean power generation is expanding its manufacturing operations. We are looking for an exceptional Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to bridge the gap between breakthrough electromechanical engineering and volume production.

In this dual-impact "player-coach" leadership role based in Greater Austin, TX, you will lead and build a high-performing team of engineers while staying hands-on with our most challenging production puzzles. If you thrive in fast-paced scaling environments, love creating robust production frameworks from scratch, and actively leverage cutting-edge tools to accelerate work, we want to hear from you.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the transition of complex, prototype-stage energy hardware into highly repeatable, mass-production configurations across multiple facilities.
  • Hire, mentor, and cultivate a team of talented manufacturing engineers, establishing accountability, skills matrices, and clear technical growth pathways.
  • Establish foundational production documentation from the ground up—including PFMEAs, MBOMs, process controls, standardized work instructions, and DFM discipline.
  • Own end-to-end CAPEX initiatives, from business case justification and vendor qualification through installation and full process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Design lean material flows, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner cross-functionally to execute root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Here’s What Our Ideal Candidate Has
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience paired with 3+ years directly managing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success taking complex electromechanical or power generation systems from early-stage prototypes to volume commercialization.
  • Expert knowledge of CAD/PLM toolsets (e.g., NX, Teamcenter), tooling/fixture qualification, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Comfort operating in dynamic, growing environments where you can comfortably switch between high-level strategic planning and hands-on technical problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, and the ability to travel 25% - 30%.
