Job summary

Lutron Electronics Company, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our Virginia Manufacturing Facility. This internship offers involvement in high-impact projects and exposure to how our smart lighting and shading products are built at scale.

You'll collaborate with design, production, and tooling teams, apply DfM/DFx concepts, and help design assembly lines while meeting labor and quality goals. On-site, paid internship with mentorship and real project work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
• GPA ≥ 3.20
• Rising junior/senior or master's student at internship start
• Broad interests in engineering, design and development
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product design, production plant, and tooling teams to design for high-volume manufacturability
• Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products
• Assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals
• Drive active projects in partnership with cross functional teams
• Learn and apply new tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability
