Job summary

Lutron Electronics Company, Inc. is offering a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Engineering Intern position at the Virginia Manufacturing Facility in Ashland, VA. You will work with product design, production plant, and tooling teams on high-volume manufacturability and process development.

The internship provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA). On-site work five days a week with competitive pay and relocation resources.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• GPA of at least 3.20 and student status as rising junior/senior or master's student.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
• Available to work on-site five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, production, and tooling teams on high-volume manufacturability.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts.
• Assist in assembly line design and process development to meet goals.
• Drive projects in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Learn and apply new tools to improve system performance and reliability.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering

GPA 3.20+

On-track as rising junior/senior or master's student

Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Willingness to work on-site 5 days/week
