Job summary

Lutron Electronics Company, Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our Virginia Manufacturing Facility in Ashland, VA. This internship offers hands-on experience with high-volume manufacturability, DFx concepts, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with experienced engineers, receive mentorship, and contribute to meaningful, project-based work while learning new tools and technologies in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• GPA of at least 3.20.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product design, production plant, and tooling teams to design consumer products for high-volume manufacturability.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products.
• Assist with assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals.
• Drive active projects in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Learn and apply newly adopted tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
