Job summary

Lutron Electronics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering I Intern at the Virginia Manufacturing Facility to contribute to high-impact projects. You will work with manufacturing engineers to shape how smart lighting products are built at scale.

You'll gain hands-on experience, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and learn design for manufacturability, assembly, and process development while you work on-site five days per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• GPA of at least 3.20.
• Rising junior/senior or master's student at the start of the internship.
• Broad interests in engineering, design and development.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product design, production plant, and tooling teams to design for high-volume manufacturability.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products.
• Assist with assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals.
• Drive active projects with cross-functional teams.
• Learn and apply tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
