Job summary

Lutron Electronics seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at its Virginia Manufacturing Facility to help shape how smart lighting products are built at scale. Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
• Rising junior, rising senior, or master’s student at the start of the internship.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and not requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product design, production plant, and tooling teams to design consumer products for high-volume manufacturability.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products.
• Assist with assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals.
• Drive active projects in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Learn and apply new tools/technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field


• Your cumulative GPA is at least 3.20


• You are a rising junior, rising senior, or master's student at the start of the internship


• You have broad interests in engineering, design and development


• You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H‑1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.


• Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week
