Job summary

GE Aerospace invites students to join its Manufacturing Engineering Internship in Jacksonville, FL, to build a strong foundation in manufacturing and assembly while exploring new product integration and continuous improvement.

In this role you will learn state-of-the-art manufacturing methods, support engine component manufacturing and assembly, apply Lean and Six Sigma, and develop project management and negotiation skills for future MEDP/OMLP programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
• Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program.
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transit.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls.
• Ensure safe work conditions via EHS initiatives.
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma to drive productivity and on-time delivery.
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components with shops and suppliers; build project management and negotiation skills.
