Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to build a strong foundation in manufacturing and assembly processes, supporting both component hardware and engine assembly. This role offers exposure to continuous improvement, new technology integration, and cost-out initiatives.

Successful candidates will learn Lean and Six Sigma principles, apply risk assessment and statistical controls, and collaborate with shops and suppliers while developing project management and business acumen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Enrolled in a full-time bachelor or graduate program (eligible majors listed).
• Willingness to work at 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation to sites without public transit access.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or overall engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and the application of statistical controls.
• Ensure safe work conditions via Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives.
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and stable operations in a complex environment.
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with shops and suppliers while building project management and negotiation skills.
