Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to build a strong foundation in manufacturing and assembly. The role may involve new product integration, technology adoption, continuous improvement, and cost-out initiatives as a path to GE’s MEDP/OMLP programs.

You will gain hands-on experience in risk assessment, process capability, Lean/Six Sigma, and on-time delivery within a fast-paced shop environment while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
• Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program.
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation, as many of our sites do not have public transportation available.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or overall engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls.
• Ensure safe work conditions via Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives.
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity and on-time delivery.
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with shops and suppliers while building project management and negotiation skills.
