Job summary

GE Aerospace in Asheville, NC offers a Manufacturing Engineering Internship to build a strong foundation in manufacturing and assembly, with exposure to new product integration and continuous improvement. This internship is a stepping stone toward MEDP/OMLP after graduation.

Learn Lean/Six Sigma, apply statistical controls, and collaborate with shops and suppliers while developing project management and negotiation skills in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program.
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transit.

Responsibilities

• Learn state-of-the-art manufacturing methods.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, RCA, corrective actions and SPC.
• Ensure safe work conditions via EHS initiatives.
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma to drive productivity and on-time delivery.
• Support delivery for sourced components with shops and suppliers, building PM and negotiation skills.
