Daimler Truck North America is hiring a Manufacturing Production Process Engineer I in Byesville, OH. This hands-on role turns manufacturing concepts into practical production solutions, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

The candidate will support projects from concept through testing, installation, and handoff, with a focus on shop-floor equipment, controls, tooling, and process documentation.

Qualifications

• Reading mechanical drawings and electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to collect and analyze process data and develop practical solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong communication and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to spend significant time in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and implement new/modified manufacturing processes.
• Analyze workflows and optimize layouts for material flow and efficiency.
• Develop specs for tools, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
• Support installation, validation, and handoff of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process issues with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct trials, tests, and data collection to confirm process capability.
• Create and maintain drawings, process specs, work instructions, and records.
• Coordinate work by vendors/contractors and monitor safety/quality.
