Job summary

Eaton is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for its Roanoke, VA facility, onsite relocation offered within the United States. You will design, improve, and sustain mechanical systems, tools, and processes for assembly operations to drive product performance and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production teams to deliver continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial environment while ensuring safety and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including prototype builds, process development, and production readiness.
• Evaluate existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and quality improvements.
• Develop and implement tooling, fixturing, and assembly methods to support safe and efficient production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production and implement robust corrective actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and optimize throughput.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support testing and validation of products to ensure performance and reliability requirements.
• Work with suppliers to specify components and resolve technical issues.
• Lead or support continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) initiatives across assembly operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices.
