Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Rochester, MN, to own manufacturing activities from prototype through pilot and full production builds. The role emphasizes quality, cost, and efficiency with a focus on process optimization and NPI support.

You will collaborate across engineering, production, and customer teams to ensure manufacturability and schedules. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with lean/Six Sigma,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a production setting.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, process development and optimization.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT).
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of products, guiding prototype, pilot, and production builds.
• Oversee customer documentation changes and internal change orders.
• Report on New Product Launch activities including risks and mitigations.
• Lead quality improvement using statistics to identify trends and corrective actions.
• Drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Contribute to new customer development and cost considerations.
• Analyze production feedback to address process issues and drive improvements.
• Support DPV testing, validation, and process capability activities.
• Create and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
• Collaborate with design, test, quality, and operations to align processes with requirements.
