Job summary

Benchmark in Minnesota, Rochester is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Liaison to support from design through production, collaborating with Design, Procurement, Assembly and Quality to ensure efficient operations.

You will attend design reviews, evaluate manufacturability, assist in make/buy decisions, coordinate tooling, and drive lean initiatives such as 5S, TPM and VSM while supporting a 24/7 global business. Requires engineering background and readiness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0-2 years manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machine shop environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.

Responsibilities

• Attend design reviews and evaluate product manufacturability.
• Review engineering drawings before Production Release for manufacturability.
• Advise on make/buy decisions between in-house vs outside vendors.
• Participate in vendor surveys and evaluate tooling requirements.
• Support manufacturing operations with lean initiatives (5S, TPM, VSM).
• Provide flow charts and layouts for efficient product flow.
