Job summary

Actalent in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to analyze, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, improving product quality and reducing waste through lean methods. The role supports both existing production and new product introduction with cross-functional collaboration.

You will design and modify tools and equipment, drive capital projects with ROI analysis, and develop documentation, process layouts, and quality plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP/CRM systems.
• Lean manufacturing and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimize productivity.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline production operations.
• Lead and drive the implementation of capital projects, including return-on-investment analysis.
• Design, modify, and validate production tools, fixtures, and equipment for safe, cost-effective operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop quality standards, inspection protocols, and corrective actions.
• Monitor process performance, analyze data, and identify root causes of defects to improve quality.
• Prepare CAD drawings and layouts for fabrication and production.
• Develop and maintain documentation of processes, standards, and equipment modifications.
• Support new product development and manufacturability reviews with customers.
