Job summary

3M Knoxville, IA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee safe and efficient production in a primary process area. You will drive improvements in safety, quality, service and cost, and lead continuous improvement projects across functions.

Responsibilities include implementing lean tools, guiding new product introductions, supporting maintenance and engineering activities, and representing the site in audits and external customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Two years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex projects.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
• Experience in lean manufacturing or aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety, quality, service, and cost improvements (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies and standard work.
• Drive cross-functional projects to support new process start-ups and cost reduction.
• Proactively communicate project direction and status to stakeholders.
• Support daily operations to meet service targets and maintenance activities.
• Represent Knoxville site in internal and external audits.
