Job summary

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Hebron, KY. You will collaborate with global teams, develop and implement improvements to safety, quality, service and productivity, and work with production and maintenance to troubleshoot downtime.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or science and 2 years in manufacturing; experience with CI, Six Sigma, Lean is a plus. Travel up to 10%, on-site in Hebron.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience with CI, Six Sigma, and Lean.
• Experience with capital budgets and project management.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement improvements related to safety, quality, service, and productivity.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment/downtime issues.
• Identify improvement opportunities requiring capital expenditure; establish justification and manage projects to completion.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects.
• Provide engineering support for assigned areas including occasional nights/weekends.
• Use project management tools to convey objectives, timelines, obstacles, and next steps.
• Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis.
