Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes for complex metal assemblies in our Northlake, TX plant. You will drive production flow, tooling selection and process improvements while ensuring quality and safety standards.

You will coordinate launches, train teams, and lead lean initiatives to reduce costs and boost productivity. This role requires hands-on problem solving and collaboration across engineering and operations.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc) or equivalent experience.
  • Automated assembly experience.
  • Cell layout experience.
  • MS Office experience.
  • BIW product understanding & experience.
  • Sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience.
  • AutoCad experience.
  • Plexus experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Creates and maintains job elements sheets and standard work sheets.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
  • Leads and supports lean manufacturing initiatives; including, cost reductions and productivity improvements.
