Job summary

IDEX in Maryland is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for highly engineered rotational equipment. You will work with production, quality, engineering, continuous improvement, and facilities to enhance safety, quality and efficiency across our shop floor.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, with Lean/Six Sigma experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; post graduate degree a plus.
• 3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma/KANBAN or Kaizen methodology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Evaluates manufacturing processes based on cycle time, TAKT time, and quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed; manages process-improvement projects.
• Designs tools, fixtures and machines used to assemble, manufacture and inspect products.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures for air blower assembly and production.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products, providing input on design changes to improve production efficiency.
