Job summary

Fisher Barton Inc. in Waukesha, WI, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support plant production, drive continuous improvement, and optimize processes in the bronze foundry and CNC turning operations.

You will design and implement manufacturing processes, lead NPI, reduce scrap, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5+ years of metalworking manufacturing experience are required; SolidWorks CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in metalworking or casting.
• Solid Works CAD proficiency and drafting skills.
• Proven problem-solving ability including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and implement cost-effective, repeatable manufacturing processes and layouts for high-precision bronze components.
• Design (SolidWorks), test, and implement new foundry dies and tooling.
• Support precision turning; assist with troubleshooting FA parts with CNC Programmer.
• Coordinate NPI - manufacturing launches from prototype to full-scale production with quality, cost, and delivery in mind.
• Lead and participate in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, downtime, and setup times.
• Perform root-cause analysis, process audits, and 8D/5-Why/Fishbone investigations for deviations.
• Collaborate with operators, metallurgy, quality, and safety to improve shop-floor safety and efficiency.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
