Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role in Peoria, IL. You will troubleshoot day-to-day process problems, implement and validate solutions, and identify root causes to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost.

The role includes supporting NPI, developing and maintaining shop floor processes, managing routings and BOM/MBOM, and applying Lean/Six Sigma to drive improvements. You will work with VPPA/MESA/Capp+/PINpoint and other systems on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, engineering technology, or related field.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
Experience with vision systems, automation/robotics, AutoCAD, PFMEA, gauges.
Ability to learn and manage VPPA, MESA, Capp+, and PINpoint.
CAD experience.
Prior assembly manufacturing experience.
Exposure to manufacturing processes; assembly experience advantageous.
Experience with gauges is a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day process problems, implementing and validating solutions.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure timely release and processing of engineering drawings.
Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor processes, including managing standard work, routings/work instructions, BOM/MBOM, ergonomic requirements, and tooling.
Analyze and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based on communication with shop floor users and Operations staff.
Manage expense and capital requirements related to assembly areas, NPI, product capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous process improvement.
Improve value stream metrics through process improvement activities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for assembly processes.
