Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the East Peoria, IL area. You will troubleshoot processes, drive NPI support, and optimize shop-floor workflows to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost. This contract, onsite role pays $30–$45 per hour and emphasizes lean, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives.

You will collaborate with operations to implement standard work, routings, BOM/MBOM, tooling, and process controls while guiding continuous improvement across the value stream.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, process engineering or related field.
• Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
• Experience with vision systems, automation/robotics, and related tooling.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to learn new software systems (VPPA, MESA, Capp+, PINpoint).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot day-to-day process problems and validate solutions.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for safety, quality, and cost.
• Support NPI to ensure timely release of drawings.
• Develop and maintain shop floor processes, including routings, BOM/MBOM, and tooling.
• Analyze and recommend systems and training needs from shop floor feedback.
• Manage expense and capital needs for assembly areas and capacity.
• Improve value stream metrics through process improvements.
• Provide technical guidance to assembly value streams.
