Job summary

Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to work with our Plant Engineering and Maintenance teams on hands-on projects that support tire production and process improvement.

You will gain experience with the equipment, processes, and operations of a large-scale manufacturing facility, develop practical knowledge of racing tire manufacturing, and contribute fresh ideas to improve efficiency and overall operations.

Qualifications

• Be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and will be enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (unofficial transcripts must be provided at time of application).
• Must be able to commute to Plymouth, IN.
• Housing will not be provided for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects from development through completion and final evaluation.
• Support Plant Engineering and Maintenance with additional projects and day-to-day initiatives as needed.
• Gain firsthand experience with the operations of a large-scale manufacturing facility.
• Build an understanding of the roles, processes, equipment, and procedures that support efficient production.
• Develop practical knowledge of the racing tire manufacturing process.
• Contribute fresh ideas and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall operations.
