Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join Test Operations Maintenance. Focused on CPV and ground system refurbishment, you will create SOPs, manage work orders, and ensure cleanability and reliability of test hardware.

You will collaborate with Huntsville and West Texas teams, drive continuous improvement, and mentor engineers, while growing the manufacturing engineering footprint within the maintenance organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Aerospace or related Eng field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or test engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with hardware fabrication or cleaning, passivation, assembly, instrumentation and refurbishment.
• Experience writing SOPs and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with configuration management, requirements management and change processes.
• Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technicians and leadership.
• Experience with fluid component cleaning, surface treatment and validation procedures.
• Familiarity with process flow visualization and continuous improvement methods.
• Proficiency with MS Office; Jira/Confluence knowledge is a plus.
• Eligibility to access Redstone Arsenal; U.S. citizen/national or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain manufacturing engineering processes, SOPs for CPV and ground system activities across Huntsville and West Texas.
• Own creation and management of work orders for refurbishment and testing of components and lab equipment.
• Improve cleaning, passivation, verification, and refurbishment processes to meet specs.
• Source and procure tooling and equipment for CPV labs and new builds.
• Disposition non-conformances, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Champion continuous improvement and standard work across CPV labs with technicians.
• Collaborate with design, quality, materials, and test engineering to ensure manufacturability and refurbish-ability.
• Mentor junior engineers and strengthen ERP/MRP/CMMS workflows for better traceability.
