Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Test Operations Maintenance team. The role focuses on CPV and ground system refurbishment, cleaning, passivation, and verification, partnering across Huntsville and West Texas facilities.

You will create work orders, SOPs, and ensure safe, repeatable hardware processing. The candidate will lead continuous improvement, collaborate with design, quality, and test engineering, and mentor technicians to strengthen

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or test engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with cleaning, passivation, assembly, and refurbishment.
• Experience writing SOPs and manufacturing/process documentation.
• Experience with configuration management, requirements management, and change processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with technicians and leadership.
• Familiarity with AI tools in a manufacturing environment; MS Office, Jira, Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing engineering processes, work instructions, and SOPs for CPV and ground system components across Huntsville and West Texas facilities.
• Create, release, and manage work orders for refurbishment of test stand components and lab equipment.
• Shape and improve cleaning, passivation, verification, and refurbishment processes to meet specs and standards.
• Source tooling, fixturing, and equipment for CPV and lab operations, including new builds in West Texas.
• Dispostion non-conformances and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; strengthen ERP/MRP/CMMS workflows for better work-order management.
