Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering professional to set operations direction for vehicle and subsystem architectures, define engineering strategies, and ensure manufacturability from inception.

You will lead cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, test, and quality to shape early program decisions, develop roadmaps, and apply DFX principles to bridge technology gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related technical field.
• Strong lifecycle understanding from concept through production.
• Technical leadership and ability to coordinate across stakeholders.
• Experience planning R&D hardware builds, BOMs, process docs, and non-conformance resolution.
• Proven ability to influence design requirements and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CAD systems (NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks) and PLM tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication, including presenting to senior leadership.
• Willingness to work extended hours if needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the manufacturing focal for subsystems and AI&T activities, establishing manufacturing plans.
• Plan and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware.
• Drive DFX principles, conduct producibility assessments, and develop roadmaps to close gaps.
• Develop manufacturing artifacts like Production Readiness Levels and build strategies.
• Partner with PM, Design Eng, and Operations to identify risks and mitigation plans.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
