Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to set operation direction for vehicle architectures and ensure manufacturability from inception. You will lead manufacturing plans across AI&T activities, perform producibility assessments, and develop roadmaps bridging manufacturing tech gaps.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with CAD tools, and the ability to coordinate with program management, design engineering, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace/ Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience planning and supporting R&D hardware builds including BOMs, design requirements, and process documentation.
• Proven ability to lead manufacturing solutions and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with CAD systems (NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks) and PLM tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication with senior leadership experience.
• Flexibility to support critical milestones, which may require extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the manufacturing technical focal for assigned subsystems and AI&T activities, establishing manufacturing plans for vehicle architectures.
• Plan for and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware with hands-on support.
• Drive DFX principles, conduct producibility assessments, support trade studies, and develop roadmaps to bridge manufacturing tech gaps.
• Develop manufacturing artifacts including Production Readiness Level assessments and tooling designs.
• Partner with Program Management, Design Engineering, and Operations to identify risks and mitigate.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
