Job summary

Daikin Applied in Staunton, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join our in-office team. You will contribute to continuous improvement, lead or support manufacturing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional design teams on NPI and PFMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, industrial manufacturing engineering, or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience.
• Sheet metal fabrication and assembly using state-of-the-art processes including cellular manufacturing and Demand Flow Technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Participate in continuous improvement and cost reductions with manufacturing engineering expertise as a team lead or member.
• Utilize work measurement tools to set labor standards and estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs for management decisions.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize work force utilization, facility layout, workflow, and equipment effectiveness; lead kaizen as needed.
• Recommend methods for worker safety, quality, and efficiency; minimize costs via workflow optimization and equipment management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop work instructions, safety procedures, and ergonomics; support NPI with PFMEA and process changes.
