Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is hiring an Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer II to scale the production of spacecraft electromechanical assemblies, from wiring to actuator integration. You’ll own manufacturing processes at the intersection of electrical and mechanical systems, driving improvements and ensuring quality for each build.

The role demands hands-on drafting of work instructions, DFMA feedback, and close collaboration with technicians and design engineers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with wire harness fabrication and connectors.
• Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong collaboration and on-floor communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing and assembly processes for payload systems.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, travelers, and test procedures.
• Interface with payload customers translating requirements into production processes.
• Implement contamination control and cleanliness protocols for flight hardware.
• Provide DFMA feedback to design engineers on assembly accessibility and testability.
• Lead payload acceptance tests and build-record maintenance.
• Drive root cause analysis and MRB dispositions with design engineering.
