Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. seeks an Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer II to scale production of spacecraft electromechanical assemblies, from wire harnesses to actuator integration and cable routing.

You will own processes at the electrical-mechanical intersection, ensuring quality and reliability while driving incremental improvements. You will collaborate with payload design engineers, develop detailed work instructions, and lead root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3–6+ years experience.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience with electromechanical assemblies in high-reliability industries.
• Experience with wire harness fabrication, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and connector assembly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing and assembly processes for payload systems.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, travelers, specifications, and test procedures.
• Interface with payload customers translating requirements into production processes.
• Implement contamination control and handling protocols for sensitive hardware.
• Collaborate with design engineers on DFM/DFA feedback for accessibility, placement, thermal design, and testability.
• Define and execute payload acceptance testing and inspection; maintain traceable build records.
• Lead root cause analysis and MRB dispositions for non-conformances.
• Coordinate payload integration milestones with vehicle integration team.
